The Dustbin Theory

In the school days, we are advised to keep notes of our subjects, to stay up-to-date and be on-track of the studies going on. Then we shift to colleges and as exams start approaching closer and closer we do run to copy notes from friends, but yes, jokes apart, we do maintain notes in colleges as well. And then comes the phase to handle your own expenses so we do the jobs. In a job also it becomes a daily part of our office life to maintain some sort of records either it could be the stock register of a clerk or it could be the books of accounts of a chartered accountant working independently or it could be the class attendance register maintained by a school teacher. All of these records have strikingly many things in common, allow me to throw some light on them.  They are : -
  1.  All of these accounts are maintained and revised periodically.
  2. They represent the existence of hierarchy in a particular organization.
  3. They are very granular in nature, still very necessary.
  4. They help the organization in making sure that the organization is on track. If any variations are identified, they are suddenly acted upon with some crystal clear, stated measures to bring the organization on track.
  5. All of these documents are maintained by the organizations who want to achieve the best position in their respective industry.

HAVE YOU APPLIED THE SAME PRINCIPLE TO YOUR LIFE?

Do you maintain a daily journal or a diary where you can note down your daily progress and failures?

I presume you haven’t. Mostly don’t. So you are not the only one who doesn’t have such a dairy.
Now if you give me the most famous excuse of not getting enough time to do it then please answer my this question:-

What if your company pays you 10 $ every day to just maintain a personal diary? Would you maintain it then? Of course, you would.
Now, what if I tell you that if you maintain a diary constantly for a month, without getting a penny for doing it, would you do that?
Well, maybe don’t. So in case you are a preacher of the formula
MONEY = TIME
I do have a little secret for you in here., that will let you earn from this habit.

This habit of writing things down has been in existence since the humans were born. The great Upanishads, The Holy Bible, The Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad Gita, Quran etc are all in existence till date due to the simple habit of humans to write things down. Yes, of course, it would have been great if men knew when to stop writing only then could we escape from the long boring history classes! But of course, even they give some very important messages like bravery, integrity, fight for freedom, human fundamental need to be free etc.
So why is it that we have forgotten it now?
The habit of maintaining a daily personal journal has helped me in a countless number of ways.

Journaling has been my most effective tool in times of distress. Note down whatever is troubling you right now. Might be you have been through a break up with your sweetheart, might be you have gone through a divorce recently or might be you have been ridiculed regularly by your office team mates. Write it down. Let the fresh paper be your best friend. And while you're writing your problems, feel that you are telling to the most trusted person in the world. Of course, it isn't possible for the people whom you think would be there by your side, to be there always. And might be they will just say plain NO to you and leave you in those dark valleys. But you shouldn't lose hope because you have the ultimate power, the God or the Magical power which is hanging this planet Earth on merely nothing in the air. And I find journaling as the best medium to connect to that higher power. I write down my problems, seek answers and keep on writing and writing until I see an answer before me. Believe me, my dear friend, that power is ready to help you, all you need to do is to ASK for it.

For a disease to be cured, you need to identify it beforehand. You just cannot eat the medicine as per your choice. Journaling does exactly that. Many times we get angry or frustrated due to work pressure or some outside world and we bring this stress to home and break the “tight bubble of loving atmosphere” at homes in a matter of seconds by yelling out. What we don’t realize is that we have actually transferred that same negative energy to our loved ones, ignorant of the fact that it will come hunting for you someday.
I believe journaling is the best way to express gratitude for what you have. Do you have two eyes? Be grateful for it. Do you have a roof over your head? Be grateful for it. Do you have clean water to drink? Be grateful for it. Do you have food on your table? Be grateful for it. Write down all things you are grateful for, then dump down your own worries.

I call this habit of dumping your worries as “The Dustbin Theory”. In this theory, write down your worries in a separate journal. Practice it whenever you feel like, it could be in the morning every day or at night when the world sleeps, practice it in the hour best suited to you. This theory is the best way to dump out all your work pressures, stress, anxiety, negative thoughts, fears, setbacks and rebukes that might be restraining and preoccupying your mind, chaining its freedom. When the mind will be free, you will reclaim the genius in you that so very much deserves to breathe in that rare air of ultra performers. This technique will surely help you in cleansing your mind and body because 90% of our diseases are the resultants of constant negative impulses we keep locked inside us. Am sure, when you will apply these ideas, they will help you in increasing your morale, increase happiness in your work and family life and thus your income will soar.
Hope my ideas will serve you to the fullest of their potential.

Till next time.

Stay motivated. Stay excited. Stay happy.
