Top 5 traits of highly successful people

There are actually many traits of highly successful people but am simply gonna articulate them in the following points for you. Just remember that being successful isn’t difficult, its much easier than being a mediocre:

  •  They are POSITIVE thinkers : All of us have our share of sorrow and regret and some unavoidable circumstances. But the ones who know the ability to deal with them wisely are able to dodge those tough times which mostly drain the energy out of most of others.
  •  They are PASSIONATE : Such kind of people are always coming up with new ideas or insights, no matter how busy they are. This strange habit is what makes them successful. They are constantly analyzing how they can amp up their game in every aspect of their lives.
  • They understand the value of SUPERB QUALITY HUMAN RELATIONS : It is so easy sometimes to forget about the human connection when you are up at the ladder of success when most of your peers aren’t, but most often this is the single most worst habit that makes success a failure in a matter of seconds ! All successful men and women of any era, got successful because they were always humble and understood that the very fabric of any successful enterprise or a personality or a brand is its superb quality human relations.
  • They run GREAT RITUALS to keep themselves on track. Hard times do come in the lives of most successful people as well, but they have already set some great rituals that they run every day in their lives to keep themselves on track. For example : it is going out for a run for me if I feel like having some stress in mind. This way, I remain fit mentally and physically both.
  • They WORK HARD. You really cannot ignore this point. Can you ? All successful people do agree on the presence of some luck factor in their lives but more than that they agree on the age old line “The harder I work, the luckier I get”. They are not like most of the lot who sits in front of the TV or PC aimlessly to hop on from website to website and are waiting luck to strike them. The successful ones get up, roll their sleeves up, get their hands dirty and endure the painstaking task until and unless they have realized their dreams.

Being successful isn’t a physical state, it’s a mental state.

A valuable lesson to learn from Mr. Bean

I love watching Mr. Bean series. I've actually watched all of the original ones so now am left with only the cartoon version, but it's funny as well!

There are many lessons that we can learn from the character of Mr. Bean.

First of all, Rowan Atkinson is a LEGEND! A true Genius! I think nobody could ever play that character that well, in the whole mankind, the way he has played it so flawlessly. So this blog post is dedicated to his most popular character on screen, Mr. Bean!

The simple and small lesson I've learned from Mr. Bean is that even though he doesn't own a big Lamborghini or a big mansion, he still feels himself as the king of the world. His little green and black car seems like a Rolls Royce to him and his small cozy apartment seems to him like the sweetest place to live on Earth. Never sees challenges as challenges, rather sees them as opportunities and always proves to be clever of the lot! He really knows how to draw happiness worth millions from the tiniest of things. And that is TRUE GREATNESS! If you don't believe me go watch his video on YouTube titled "Mr. Bean in room no. 420" It is one of my favorites! Life seems to throw its challenges to him, but this man! This man always seems to have a solution for everything! Give him a to work as a dentist,he'll do it great ! Besides the fact that you'll end up getting all your teeth filled with medicine! (Hope you have seen his episode of Mr. Bean and the Dentist). And he's the best barber in the town as well ! Amazing haircuts with tons of laughter! (Mr. Bean barber episode). And The Teddy! Who can forget him?

So, in short, we can say that he is a totally fun guy. So why not we, be a guy like him or a mother like him or a CEO like him. No am not referring to carelessness depicted in the serial, that is just added in the series to make it look funny to the audience. But what I refer here is, why not we enjoy each and every moment of our life just like him? Why shouldn't we love our dear ones so much today, as if there is no tomorrow? Why shouldn't we, for a moment, forget about being a CEO or a manager and then talk to a stressed out employee on a friendly level? Where has anything but that habit of smiling gone?

Please incorporate all of his good attributes to pick up from, to elevate the way you do your current work. Your work represents you. Have fun so that you can increase your happiness to another level of bigness.
If you are right now at your workplace, kindly get up and go to your nearest human being, take their hand in yours and tell them how much you value them and the significance they hold for you. Or go home and hug your sweetheart so tightly that you make her blush all night and tell her "I love you" like you mean it and then take that person or your wife whoever it is, and watch a Mr. Bean episode with them. (It could be your children also)

And if you are alone and with strangers, get up, go to your nearest human being. Talk to them. Give some human touch. And watch any Mr. Bean video with them. Am sure you'll end up making a good friend for life. :)

Spread smiles!

By the way, did you ever wonder how Mr. Bean used to earn his living? I've been puzzled a lot by this question sometimes. Enjoy your day.

Till next time.

How to make your EQ stronger ??? [EQ Vs IQ (Part 2 of 2)]

Hello! I hope all are doing well and hunting down your dreams every day. In my earlier blog post, I shared with you an example that how EQ is different from IQ.
We most probably are pretty much aware now that the EQ is much more important than the IQ. All the major companies around the globe do want their workforce to have a strong IQ but from past few decades, this trend has been changing. Every organization now wants to employ those candidates who qualify in IQ test but also stand par excellence to others. In the managerial levels as well, it is seen that the managers who have strong EQ tend to move up the organizational ladder much faster than their contemporaries. Emotional Intelligence is very much different from academic intelligence. Many who are book smart face difficulties in dealing with complex life situations in future just because they forget about strengthening their emotional intelligence.
Emotional Intelligence is simply referred to as the ability of which one can remain poised, serene and calm amidst various troubles happening in his/ her life. It can also be defined as the ability of a person to be stable inside when the outside seems to have fallen apart.
So how do we make our EQ stronger?
I suggest you, the following tips to focus on for a few days to make yourself much stronger in EQ than others. Before reading below just remember this formula:-
      EQ = SELF WORTH
I’ll explain later why I have put this formula for you to consider.
1)    Give Love to yourself.
Many times it happens that we give love to others to such a great extent, be it in an imagination or in an outer world, that we ourselves make us empty from inside. This habit of loving others than they love you back should only be adopted if your own cup is filled to the full.
2)    Practice the wonderful habit of gratitude.
We don’t need all that money to be happy. Do we? We don’t even need to have a super luxury car to make ourselves happy. Yes, these material things are important in life and they do add to the spice in life. But many times we forget about saying”Thank You” for what we have. If you have a loving family, you are blessed. If you have food on your table, feel blessed. If you have a roof over your head and two eyes to read this blog post, you are truly blessed. Many don’t even have this privilege.

3)    Expect less.
Expectations are big culprits in robbing us off from our self-worth. It does feel bad when someone whom we cared a lot doesn’t give us back that same love and care. Read my blog post (titled : Why do we get hurt) to know more on this point. A simple rule to follow: Other than those who care for you, give what you get from them. That is a sure way to make yourself stand for yourself in times of difficulties. Letting people walk over you isn’t what true leaders do. They are friendly, yet super firm and deeply connected to their core values, of which self-worth comes among the most important ones.

4)    Burn out all past hurts and worries.

Bruce Lee used to apply this technique during his tough times. He always used to write down his worries on a piece of paper and then burn up that paper. According to him, that burning paper would make him feel as if his worries and tensions are getting burned. This technique has helped me innumerable times to get past all negative emotions and exude passion and vitality in the world around me.

5)    Spend Alone Time.

For an hour every week, be alone. Switch off your cell phones. Go away from your family. Be very, very hard to reach. Shut out all noises to listen to the voice within you. Be alone for some hours. You can either go to a coffee shop or sit down on a bench in a park. Now rest your mind there. Think about your dreams. Think of yourself as a businessman and get into deep thinking mode to reflect on your ways of doing things and ask yourself if they are in line with your dreams or not. In this deep abyss of self-love, you will figure out who you truly are and what you are meant to be in life. Trust me, you will grow exponentially, you’ll figure out what actually gives you that adrenaline rush, you’ll discover your innate talents, you’ll experience true bliss after this exercise. You will then develop your own crystal clear clarity with which you will gift yourself the most beautiful gift of having a pristine mindset

6)    Last, but by no means the least, Dedicate yourself to something higher than just living your days. Serve the humanity. Discover your talents. Dedicate yourself to making this work a better place than you found it and if you cannot do it, will your living make any difference? Leave behind a legacy. Be kind to strangers. Respect humanity. Smile at your colleagues. Make a new friend every day. In the end, all that matters is how kind your heart truly is.

These were the Super Six that will lift you up in your EQ.
Remember that formula?
Revisit it and connect that formula to each one of these points, you’ll notice that how our Emotional Quotient is directly connected to our Self Worth.

Hope my ideas will provide you with some beautiful changes to make into your daily habits. DO them. Revisit this blog post as many times you feel the need of the push. Am here for you always.

EQ Vs IQ (Part 1 of 2)

Just a few weeks back I got my home renovated. Some labourers were employed who did their craft amazingly and made my home beautiful with a completely new, fresh and energizing ambience.
Now let me introduce you to my neighbor. He is a well mannered 34 years old man who is a senior level manager working in a big firm in Delhi.

So, on one day when the labourers were going from my home, after completing their that day's job, at the same time, this manager guy was coming up. The view was so contrasting to me that it intrigued me to look at them both separately and analyze them in different perspectives. After analyzing them for over an hour, In it, I discovered some deep wisdom to learn from the teacher called "Life".

On one side there is this labourer who is making a few dollars in a month so that he could afford a meagre existence in the slums. On the other hand, there is this manager, who makes 20X of what the labourer is earning. Now yes, we do understand the difference in both the parties is because of difference in educational qualifications, skill sets, knowledge and nature of work, besides other factors. But what really inspired me is the fact that a labourer seems to be much fitter and happier than the modern age managers ! The manager guy, which I shared with you about earlier is having a fat tummy and seems to be very lazy. Whereas the labourer is always active and full of energy during his whole work day. That labourer did engrave the high importance of fitness in our lives. Then when I looked closely at them, with regard to their personal lives, emotional standards, and the job satisfaction, I was surprised to see that the labourer won in all of it!

HOW COULD IT BE POSSIBLE?

For knowing the answer of this question, kindly choose any one of the two formulas :-

MORE MONEY = MORE HAPPINESS

OR

MORE MONEY = MORE TENSIONS + MORE WORRIES + MORE WORKS TO DO + MORE GLOOMY DAYS + MORE RISK OF LOSING THAT MONEY.

Now let me ask you, what formula do you agree on ?

If you got on the first one, let me congratulate you because you are on the abundance mindset.
And if you chose the second one, then you are in the scarcity mindset.

Why is that so ?

Abundance mindset makes you feel that you are in control of money, whereas the scarcity mindset suggests you that money is in control of you. No wonder that why most of the people then end up running after money and on the other hand why some people become millionaires in just one generation !

The labourer was on the abundance mindset, as compared to the manager who was residing in the scarcity mindset. The labourer is always smiling, takes his work just like a CEO gives regard to his work, enjoys his life completely and is in fact, according to me, leading a richer life as compared to the manager, who is constantly complaining, fat, smokes 3-4 cigarettes in a day and night. He has even forgotten how to smile.

This feels so painful to me that why do some people have a strong IQ but lack in a strong EQ ? A large part of the answer to this is that the "manager types" are not aware of the high importance of a strong EQ. A person with stronger EQ is able to dodge the problems of life much easily and wisely as compared to the other.
The word I want to focus here is balance. I believe we should balance the EQ of the labourer with the IQ of the manager.

Money is important in our lives. Obviously, it makes the journey of life easy, but it shouldn't be allowed to rule us. Otherwise, the health and emotional lives you are sacrificing right now to earn the money might be the same culprits who will eat up your bank account.  We really shouldn't let our emotional life be at the mercy of the work pressure of the job we are doing. I understand that these are tough times and your company needs you more than ever, but the times were always tough. And they always will be in the future as well. All humans have their share of the sorrows and smiles. Life actually means to count the smiles and eliminate the sorrows.

The labourer indeed taught me a valuable lesson. So, who do you think is richer among the two ?

I know you all will be on the lookout to know how to make your EQ stronger, so in my next blog post, you'll be served with some gorgeous ideas and mind blowing tactics to make you completely indomitable.

Till next time.

What's your excuse for not exercising?

This blog post is going to be a short one so pardon me for that, but I assure you it'll give you highest returns.

I have the habit of going for my jogging every morning. So today after the session, I went straight to my terrace to spend some time with nature and drink my protein shake. Then only I saw a genius in action. And this man was no extraordinary, he was a garbage collector of our apartments. But what he was doing is what moved me.

I have heard a lot of excuses from my colleagues and friends that you need to have money to be fit. But this particular man just shattered all of that misconception with his dedicated action.

So what I noted is :-

There is a flat in our apartments which have a metal ladder that connects the flat with its terrace. And this guy what he did is, he first did 10 pull ups on that particular ladder. Kept his garbage bag on one side, did 20 crunches and followed them by 25 push-ups!

I just couldn't take my eyes off the Genius show playing in front of my eyes. He wasn't able to see me. But he was doing it no matter what the world thought about him. He was doing it because he wanted to. And that is really significant, marvelous even !

I believe that a genius is not about what moves he shows on the stage, a genius is all about the hard work and dedication they put in when no one is watching them. A true leader is dedicated to sharpening his craft each and every moment not like some pseudo leader who comes on stage to speak two or three borrowed words, hear claps and go and relax. A true leader is meant to create more leaders and for this, they need to be in top high quality oriented mindset and fitness.

When that guy came to my home to collect the garbage I asked him why does he do that and don't people laugh at him ?
I was stunned by the wisdom of his reply and repeated those words for some time to digest them. His reply was simply this.

"God has sent us all same. Fitness isn't a necessity. Its a personal decision to make. And those who laugh at me, I feel pity for them, because am the only one who never lets their houses stink even for one day. I don't just clean their houses, I save them from a world of diseases. I am a savior."

And he smiled and left me standing there admiring his greatness.

Won't you call such a person a superhero?

Savoir.

We're just running from office to home, earning few dollars, living in the lavish homes and still don't find the time for fitness.

That savior didn't regard his "craft" ( I have to call it as the craft because am so deeply touched by his wisdom) as a mere job. He took it as a responsibility. And fitness as a necessity.

This man wasn't just another human being, he was a man of wisdom.

What's your excuse for not exercising?

Till next time.

A short story on Intelligence Vs Common sense

Today, I am pleased to share with you all a simple and a powerful story that was shared with me by a friend of mine. It seemed so fascinating to me that I just couldn’t rest without sharing it with you all. When I heard this story, first I liked it from the surface of it, but when I took a deep dive into it and spend a considerable amount of time reflecting on it, I discovered some very powerful insights. Those insights led me to add some more wisdom in myself and the work ethics in practice. So, I thought, why not share this story ?
Once upon a time there was a fox and a rabbit talking in a forest. They both were aware of the fact that the tiger is hunting down animals for his meal.
Fox : Hey rabbit man! How are you doing ?
Rabbit : Are you seriously asking me THIS question in the middle of this apocalypse ?
Fox : Yeah, why what happened ? You look terrified. Is all good?
Rabbit : I can’t believe that you are at such an ease with the current situation. Don’t you know that the tiger is hunting down each and every animal in his way because of his unfulfilling appetite disorder? And here you are wondering that why I am terrified. That’s horrendous. Wake up and take a whiff of reality Mr. Fox
Fox : Yeah… Whatever !
(And the fox gave his carefree look, which in turn made the rabbit angrier and concerned for Fox because of their years of friendship )
Rabbit : Hey You! Mr. Smart-know-it-all-chilled man ! Tell me one thing, what will you do if the tiger approaches you ?
Fox : Oh ! Am so smart ! I knew this question would be coming to me very soon. Ha-ha. You are asking me that if I have any backup plans or not. Right ?
Rabbit : Yes! Right, do you have any ? Because I myself have only one backup i.e. my burrow. If the tiger comes, I’ll straightaway jump into my burrow. What will you do in such a situation ?
Fox : Ah me ? Dude, I have many options, chill man! Like I can hide in that deep tunnel where the tiger couldn’t enter. Or I can vanish myself into that dark forest where I can easily outrun him or I can climb a tree. Don’t you remember that last month I was awarded for being “The best tree climbing fox” in the whole forest? Huh ! I ain’t scared of him.
And so the rabbit was about to say that when BANG ! With a big growl, the big cat came in. Standing there with the majestic personality, strong masculine body and fierceness in  eyes ready to grab and eat the two fellows standing in front of him. And as the tiger sprinted towards the rabbit, he quickly went to the burrow and hid completely.
But the fox couldn’t think in the heat of that moment and hurriedly ran to the forest. The tiger then led the fox to the deep forest. Fox was trapped and killed by the tiger.
This story might be a regular story for you all, but I saw some deeply hibernating wisdom in it. The fox used to think that the three ways which were there in its kitty would be essential and come handy in the emergency but due to its lack of common sense, the fox couldn’t decide which one should be chosen.
The lesson here is indecisiveness on the part of the fox. We are often presented with such a choice in our day to day lives. Intelligence is a plus point but common sense is a necessity for achieving success in any endeavor.
Just like the fox, many of us keep on wondering what to do, how to do and when to take an action in times of crisis or challenges and all this wondering eats up so much time that no time is left for thinking straight. As a result, we react in the most sudden way that is usually triggered by a fight or flight impulse.
Whereas, on the other side, there are a few niche people a.k.a the A Players who apply the SWOT analysis (an analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) beforehand and applying the strategy as the challenge arises. Now this is called as common sense.
As very much obvious, you must be having a thought that I am encouraging you to have the quality the rabbit displayed. But humbly, no. I am here again focusing on one of my favorite words :- Balance.
Balance out the fox with the rabbit. Have the cunningness of the fox and the speed of the rabbit. Have that common sense of rabbit and ability to discover more than one options like the fox. Because we are not fox or rabbit and the problems/ challenges that we face are bigger than the problem of a chasing tiger !
So in short :-
1)    Balance your mind with your heart
2)    Have more options and clarity of their use

Set yourself to sail in the ocean of uncertainty but be ready with your oxygen tanks and lifeboats. Where oxygen tanks are your common sense and lifeboats are those different options available.

Get Out !

Display Courage !

Have Common sense and Intelligence… so that you are just undefeatable !

Till next time…
